When my present generation recalls the past, they remember the seventies (1970), as the smell of gunpowder and death due to the Naxalite movement and its aftermath. What they tend to forget is that this was also the period when budding poets thrived in Bengal. Thousands wrote which nobody seemed to have read. A few, with the patronization of some established authors and poets, rose up the ladder, but most failed. This novelette is about one of these poets.
